I studied construction of string instruments at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Hradec Kralove, where I’ve later became a tutor-luthier. During my studies I had an opportunity to build the most common types of both electric and acoustic guitars – thereafter I’ve came across gypsy-jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt and built my very first gypsy-jazz guitar.
When constructing instruments, I follow the original Selmer guitars design. I use traditional materials and nowadays neglected technology such as pasting with heated animal glue or heat-bent top. Yet I use modern enhancements such as combination of truss rod and passive carbon reinforcements of neck. I use antique finish for all my instruments.
